Ingredients

  • 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 8 ounces large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 medium ripe avocados
  • 1½ cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F with a pizza stone inside if you have one.
  2. Toss shrimp in a bowl with 1 tablespoon olive oil, half the minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
  3. Roll or stretch pizza dough into a 12-inch circle on a floured surface and transfer to a pizza pan or parchment paper.
  4. Brush the surface with remaining olive oil mixed with the rest of the minced garlic.
  5. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly across the dough, leaving a small border for the crust. Arrange seasoned shrimp on top.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden brown and shrimp are pink and opaque.
  7. Slice avocados and toss gently with lime juice.
  8. Remove pizza from the oven and arrange avocado slices on top. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes, fresh cilantro, and an extra squeeze of lime juice.
  9. Let the pizza rest for 2-3 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Don't overcrowd the shrimp on the pizza. Always add avocado after baking to maintain its fresh texture.
